The United Kingdom Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Association Annual General Meeting will be held in Long Eaton, Nottingham on 20 October at 14:30.

The AGM will be preceded by a one hour open mat (from 13:30) – your chance to meet and roll with UKBJJA directors and fellow members. Make sure you bring your gi/rashguard! Gracie Barra Long Eaton will also welcome any attendees to join in their regular adults BJJ class from 10:30-12:00.

Attendance and voting rights:

All members of the UKBJJA are welcome to attend. As per the constitution, only member clubs or their designated representatives will be able to vote on any resolutions. To download a copy of the constitution, CLICK HERE.

 

Past events

This course is perfect for anyone wishing to referee at BJJ tournaments, competitors or anyone simply wishing to improve their knowledge of IBJJF rules.

Those attending will have the option to take a theory exam to attain a Level 3 refereeing qualification – with the additional option of progressing to Level 2 at the Newquay Open tournament.

The course will involve a mixture of theory and practical work. You are not going to be sat down all day listening to a lecture, please be prepared to take an active role on the course. Bring a gi, pens/pencils and notepads/paper.

Please make sure you download and study the IBJJF rulebook before the course!

All grades are very welcome, but only blue belts and above will be able to sit the exam and progress to the qualification.

2018 University League – Nottingham – 17 March 2018

The 2018 UKBJJA University League kicks off on 17 March at the University of Nottingham

This competition provides an opportunity for all university students and staff to compete in both Gi and No Gi divisions.

With medals, prizes for absolute, a team trophy for the best University and points towards the overall league trophy, it is sure to be an exciting competition.

UKBJJA membership is required.

Referee Course Cardiff – 11 February 2018

This course is perfect for anyone wishing to referee at BJJ tournaments, competitors or anyone simply wishing to  improve their knowledge of IBJJF rules.

First Aid for BJJ – 27/28 January 2018

A two day, fully certified first aid course taken by David McPherson.

David is the lead first aider at Scottish Grappling comps. David is an experienced paramedic and has been involved in first aid training for many years.

£60 for UKBJJA members / £80 for non members (membership is only £15 so do the maths! You can join the UKBJJA here )

Child Protection for BJJ – 6 January 2018 – Glasgow

Sport Scotland Safeguarding and Protecting Children 1

This three-hour workshop is suitable for coaches and volunteers who may come into contact with children.

The workshop explores the code of conduct for those in contact with children and provides basic information on recognising child abuse and responding to concerns. It is recommended that all coaches and volunteers attend.

THIS COURSE IS ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL FOR ALL COACHES AND INSTRUCTORS. (Scotland only)
