I am writing to apply for the role of Midlands Officer with the UKBJJA. With a strong background in event organisation, athlete support, and sports partnerships, I believe I can make a valuable contribution to the Association and help grow Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in the Midlands.
For over a decade, I have worked in sports and event management, supporting professional athletes and organising high-profile events across the UK and internationally, with clients including Royce Gracie and Braulio Estima. I am confident in delivering the role’s key responsibility of one event per quarter, ensuring each initiative is aligned with UKBJJA’s policies and values.
My connections within the Midlands region provide a strong foundation for this role. I have established networks across local sports clubs, schools, and wellness organisations and I see great potential in building partnerships between wider sports communities. These collaborations will help raise awareness, drive participation, and create inclusive opportunities for women and young people.
If appointed, I would propose the following initiatives:
● Quarterly Events: A mix of open mats, women’s training days, UKBJJ promotion days and an inaugural UKBJJA Women’s event at Warwick Sports Centre to attract new members from all over the UK.
● Industry Dinner: Hosting a high-level event with influential educational leaders to discuss integrating BJJ into school programmes and physical education strategies.
● Partnerships with Sports Clubs: Working alongside regional football, rugby, and fitness organisations to cross-promote BJJ and introduce it to new audiences.
● Awareness and Membership Strategy: Developing digital campaigns using community groups to increase UKBJJA subscribers and engagement.
I am passionate about female empowerment, equality in sport, and community building, and I see the Midlands as a region of enormous potential for BJJ growth and sustainable long-term impact for UKBJJA. Whilst expanding the reach and influence of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu across the UK at the same time.
