ENGLAND – GUIDANCE ON INDOOR GATHERINGS 9 SEPTEMBER 2020

Sport England have received confirmation from the government that the upcoming ban in England on social gatherings larger than 6 people does NOT apply to gyms and organised sports that have appropriate Covid-19 mitigation measures in place.

In summary, any BJJ club running socially distanced, non-contact training may continue, providing risk mitigation measures are in place in line with previous guidance.

We still do not have an indicative date for a resumption of contact based training. We are continuing to push for a safe return to sport at the earliest possible date.

Meanwhile, members are reminded of the importance of abiding by government guidelines. Failure to do so will invalidate your UKBJJA insurance and could lead to sanctions.

Thank you to all our members for bearing with us.
