The United Kingdom Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Association (UKBJJA) has partnered with British brand Combat Sports Hygiene (CSH) as an official hygiene partner. The UKBJJA is the official, recognised National Governing Body for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in the UK. The annual licensing partnership sees its endorsement of CSH’s exclusive hygiene spray, designed to protect against skin infections and slash healing time for cuts. The partnership will include a joint educational campaign toimprove understanding of hygiene risks and management in BJJ gyms and among participants.

Eddie B. of Combat Sports Hygiene commented:
“Backed by a patented 95% pure HOCL with 48-month shelf life, our fast-drying spray delivers knockout protection against staph, ringworm and herpes. It is purpose built for warriors from jiu-jitsu mats to the MMA cage or the rugby pitch, because champions can’t tap out to infections. We are proud to partner with the UKBJJA to advance our mission to keep athletes safe and protect them from serious and career obstructing skin infections.”
UKBJJA Chairman Neil Williams said:
“Hygiene is a vital part of keeping our athletes safe and able to train. Partnering with Combat Sports Hygiene allows us to promote best practice across the UK BJJ community and provide our members with proven, practical protection against skin infections.”
ABOUT COMBAT SPORTS HYGIENE
Combat Sports Hygiene (CSH) was founded by two BJJ enthusiasts, Eddie Bye and Jack Fullam, after Eddie contracted a skin infection from training. This not only required antibiotics but prevented him from holding his baby boy, due to the risk of spreading the infection.
Recognising that many athletes in contact sports often cannot shower immediately before or after training, or are simply not educated about the risks, Eddie sought a solution. His aim was to create a product that could bridge the gap, offering protection from germs and significantly reducing the risk of skin infections, while being suitable for daily use, gentle on the eyes and pH balanced. And so, Combat Sport Hygiene was born. Read more: CSH – Combat Sports Hygiene
“We are committed to giving back and supporting grassroots athletes as part of this journey” commented Eddie B. “while continuing to create safer, cleaner and infection-free training environments. Everyone needs a bit of a scrap after all – but nobody needs staph”.
