[ London. 1 June 2026] Elections for new Board Directors and Councillors concluded at the recent Extraordinary General Meeting of the United Kingdom Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Association on Sunday 26 May 2026.
Elections were conducted online via Election Buddy and were concluded at the general meeting, which was managed on Zoom from the Idea Space in Clapham Junction, London. Independent scrutineers, Megh Manthanwar and Yugraj Sharma were onsite to verify the integrity of the proceedings, both post-graduate students in international sport management from the University of East London.
ELECTION APPOINTMENTS
The Election Results saw Member Clubs vote to appoint following new officials:
- Marty Brammeld for Northern Ireland Director
- Andy Roberts for South England Councillor
- Chelsea Leah for Women’s Committee Chair
- Conrad Roberts for Isle of Man Councillor
All candidates had passed UKBJJA’s vetting requirements including Enhanced Criminal Record checks and have now fulfilled all administrative onboarding requirements.

CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT: MEMBERSHIP FEE CAP
The EGM also considered a proposal to amend the Constitution to enable the Board to increase the maximum permitted individual membership fee from £15 to £25.
The purpose of the motion was to provide greater financial capacity to support development activities, events and organisational growth, with the amendment providing flexibility for future fee adjustments as required.
The amendment was passed unanimously, exceeding the required 90% in favour.
