Voting commences today for a new Treasurer for the United Kingdom Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Association, as a legal requirement for the organisation, with the announcement of the one candidate standing for the post.

On the ballot, members are asked to vote for or against the candidate. See candidate information below.

All member clubs are eligible to vote and will receive an email today with a unique link to their ballot and voter ID. Electronic voting closes on 11 October 2026 prior to the Annual General Meeting (AGM), in which last questions may be posed to candidates by attendees, and final votes and proxy votes cast.

Details about how to apply for proxy or in-person voting at the AGM (on 11 October) are included in members’ ballot emails and in the formal AGM Notice.

The results will be formally announced following the AGM, after the fulfilment of administrative documentation requirements.

The candidate has passed UKBJJA’s vetting requirements including Enhanced Criminal Record checks.

My name is Casandra (Kas), and I discovered Brazilian Jiu Jitsu almost three years ago. Since then, it has become a huge part of my life. I train and compete regularly and actively support my local BJJ community through volunteering and initiatives that encourage participation.

I am standing for Treasurer because I want to use my professional skills to give back to the sport that has given me so much. My vision is to help the UKBJJA continue to grow through strong financial governance, transparency and sustainable planning, ensuring the Association is well placed to support clubs, athletes and the wider BJJ community for years to come

Qualifications and Professional Experience

• Financial Accountant with over 15 years’ experience in finance, accounting and business management.
• Experienced in financial reporting, compliance, audits, budgeting and financial controls.
• Level 3 Safeguarding qualified.
• Enhanced DBS checked.
• Active Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competitor and passionate advocate for the growth and development of the UK BJJ community
• Member of the UKBJJA Women’s Committee
